FLAME Team

Working Group guiding the establishment and candidature as a UNESCO C2C

The development of FLAME is supported and guided by a dedicated Working Group, which plays a key role in both the management of the Centre’s ongoing operations and the preparation of its candidature to become a Category 2 Centre under the auspices of UNESCO for the 2003 Convention.

Acting as a driving force for planning and coordination, the Working Group is responsible for steering the overall development process — from drafting the application and strategic plan to defining the legal, institutional, and financial frameworks required by UNESCO. It ensures coherence between the Centre’s existing activities and its future positioning within the global network of Category 2 Centres, while maintaining the participatory and inclusive approach that defines FLAME’s mission.

Meeting approximately every two months, the Working Group provides a collaborative space for monitoring progress, identifying priorities, and preparing decisions for consideration by the Governing Board. It brings together representatives of Workshop Intangible Heritage, the Flemish UNESCO Commission and the Department of Culture, Youth and Media of the Flemish Government , including representatives of the Flemish Minister of Culture.
